Temporary insanity is a legal term,
For those bitten by the mental germ
Of convenient amnesia,
Of ‘out-of-control’-esia.
For lots, insanity is not temporary,
It’s residence is in the brains’ subsidary
Which some call the heart,
Which can be hit by Cupid’s arrow-dart.
Is insanity lying dormant within,
Waiting to come out at any sin,
Even like, um…suppose perjury,
Even while having brain surgery?
Don’t get on your high horse
Seeing that you’re normal, (that’s worse)
Cause no-one’s normal so you being it, aren’t,
Cause normality’s impossible, that I’ll grant.
We’ll come out okay,
Singing yippee and hooray,
Wearing our socks on our heads,
Wearing bathing suits in our beds.
It’s time we became a little more normal,
Too much eccentricity tends to be formal
No, wait! That’s what we should abolish,
No formality in favour of eating tooth polish.
If you’re wondering what this is all about,
Just come round and give me a shout,
And I’ll tell you ‘Hey I don’t know’
And so take it as an opportunity to grow.
