"What are you doing here? Spying, prying? Fool!"
Erinye Midnight stops you as you enter a curious wing of her Manor.
A sign above the large, black velvet draped arch says 'Morsmordre'. You know that Morsmordre is the incantation for summoning the Dark Mark.
"Sorry, Professor." You whisper, shuddering.
A sudden bright smile alights her face. It's curve is malicious. "Come, come and be reminded of why The Dark Lord will never be defeated."
She mutters a spell and the musty curtains gently draw apart. You follow her through.
Right inside is a large hallways with a winding staircase set in the middle. The whole wing is lit by odd green balls of fire that hang in the air. Everything inside is ornate and old fashioned. All upholstery and curtains are of a shimmering black velvet.
A green fire burns eerily in the corner. A rack of small vials twists slowly over it.
Vials, jars and thick books lay scattered all around. The walls are decorated with a few scowling portraits and three or four shrunken heads. Above the staircase, a huge, glittering basilisk skin hangs limply.
You shudder but keep following Erinye.
She glides lethally up the stairs. A misty woman with greenish skin bursts from one of the rooms.
She gives a terrible, long drawn out scream and disappears. <i>A banshee</i>. You think, in relief. Erinye stops in front of another, smaller archway. <br>
The door is made of wood fastened with iron studs and jewels. The studs made up the bodies of two huge, intertwining snakes.
One had eyes in a deep, glittering green and the other of a shimmering bloody red. The design reminds you of the one in the Chamber of Secrets.
Erinye stares fixedly on the eyes of the snakes. She opens her mouth and a long hiss escapes it.
<i>A parselmouth!</i> You think, drawing back. As the great door swings open, she turns to you.
"The blood of Salazar Slytherin himself courses through my veins."
She leads you into a dark passage and suddenly stops.
The door in front of you is flanked by two-....you rub your eyes in disbelief-...two Dementors...
They move away as Erinye walks closer but you can feel them tugging at your thoughts.
Erinye throws open the doors and looks at you with an evil grin.
"Welcome...to the Chamber of Salazar Slytherin." She laughs. "Come!"
